We all (Greg, Shane, Neen, Maddy, Grace & myself) went for a drive thru the Glass House Mountains today, well we drove for about 1/2 hour off the black top, then when attempting to cross a BIG puddle, Shane forgot in his excitement to check the depth first. Wont do that again! It seemed shallow enough for the first 6m or so, then a big hole. The Jeep dropped it's nose under, took a gulp of water, and that was it - all over for the day.
We are not sure what went wrong, but the engine wont turn over. Quite possibly something bent internally due to trying to compress water in the cylinders? So the Outlander got to tow it out. Poor bugger, I feel a bit bad, as I pulled up at the hole first, then jokingly said "after you dude." Thru he went, well part of the way anyway. We are all keeping our fingers crossed that it is just a small electrical glitch, and not something far worse!
We snatched him out, then also towed him for the next few Kms to Beerwah. The RACQ dude turned up about an hour later, but decided it was beyond his ability to fix then & there. So then we waited for the towie to come get it. So we all piled into the Outlander for the trip back to Greg & Shanes.
Now I can wear the "Jeep Recovery Vehicle" bumper sticker at least!!!
